Zeena Elgindi

Zeena joined the GUTS project in April of 2026 as a research assistant within WP2 in Leiden.

Zeena has studied neural and socio-emotional development within a wide range of populations, starting from newborns just one day old, up to young adults in university. Her research career is driven by a desire to understand how we make sense of the world, and how this is supported by evolving brain maturity, unique social environments, and even intergenerational influences. Through GUTS, she hopes to contribute to meaningful research that can make a direct impact on young lives, while diving deeper into her passion for academia.
