Hanna Griffiths

PhD Candidate
Leiden University

Hanna Griffiths Mumbrú aims to promote positive youth development, in both offline and online settings, through the application of socio-developmental neuroscience. She wants to understand how young people’s social environment influences their behavioral and neural development and engagement in society.

She is currently carrying out her PhD in Social Developmental Neuroscience at Leiden University. She explores how friends influence an individual’s reward processes, self-regulation, and well-being over time. She is also interested in empathic contagion and political similarity in social networks. She uses a combination of fMRI, social network analysis, and experimental tasks in her research.

Her (co)promotors are Berna Güroglu, Christian Keysers and Lisa Schreuders.
