In work package 2, we work together with a student organization to understand how social relationships, the brain and individual characteristics interact over time to shape the development of young adults. However, we aim to not only conduct research about young people, but also work together with students to answer questions that have direct relevance and importance for them. Therefore, in a participatory project, we study research questions that are developed in collaboration with student from the students organization.

In collaboration with Stichting Lieve Mark and members of the student network, we examine, for example, the social culture and norms in student networks and the role of feelings of belonging in these processes. Using participatory research methods, such as focus groups and interviews, we aim to gain deeper insight into students’ experiences, creating output products that are directly relevant for student organizations, and contribute to findings that can inform policy and practice.
