We would like to invite the GUTS consortium to a series of GUTS-wide lab meetings throughout 2026. These meetings are designed as an opportunity to come together in person, share ongoing research, and exchange ideas across projects and disciplines.

During each lab meeting, several PhD students and postdocs will present their research, followed by discussion. The aim is to create a low-threshold, stimulating setting to learn from each other’s work, explore overlaps, and strengthen connections within the consortium. By rotating locations between Amsterdam and Utrecht, we hope to make these meetings accessible and foster collaboration across institutions.

Ask us anything about career planning, by Sophie Sweijen

Ask us anything – Career Planning

The Ask us anything session will focus on career planning during and after your PhD. We will begin with a short presentation on career perspectives both within and beyond academia. Drawing on personal experiences, including participation in the Career Swifters program, the talk will reflect on what you develop during a PhD beyond your specific research topic, and how these skills can translate into different career paths. Afterwards, there will be space for questions, sharing experiences, and open discussion.

Dates (2026):

  • March 19

  • May 21

  • September 17

  • November 19

Locations:
The lab meetings will alternate between Amsterdam and Utrecht (exact venues to be announced).
