We are excited to announce the upcoming GUTS Genetics Symposium and invite all consortium members and colleagues to join us.

Event Details:

During the GUTS genetics symposium we will organize an inspiring morning with an introduction to genetics and some great keynote speakers.

  • Prof Steve Faraone, is a distinguished Professor and Vice Chair for Research, Department of Psychiatry, Norton College of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He researches childhood mental disorder with a focus on genetic processes related to self-regulation-relevant behaviours.
  • Prof Meike Bartels, is a Dutch psychologist and behavior geneticist known for her research on the genetics of happiness. She holds the chair, Genetics and Wellbeing at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
  • Dr. Camille M. Williams, is a postdoctoral fellow at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. Her research integrates genetic, environmental, and brain data to advance our understanding of the etiology of externalizing behaviors and disorders.

In the afternoon we will discuss together how your research in GUTS may benefit from genetic research and data. We will learn about polygenic risk scores (PRS), tips and pitfalls and the most recent developments in the field.

We kindly ask you to register in advance so we can adjust the preparations, including catering and other arrangements, accordingly.

To register for the event, please fill out the registration form.
